Laila Oguz

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Laila B. Oguz is an abstract painter based in Delaware. Painting has been a constant in her life, practiced with focus and discretion over time. The work develops through attention, repetition, and an intuitive sense of resolution, without urgency to explain or contextualize.

Her paintings are quiet but deliberate. They rely on balance, weight, and restraint rather than narrative or symbolism. Nothing is overstated. What appears on the surface is the result of sustained looking and decision making, guided by instinct rather than concept.

The paintings are presented without instruction, allowing space for direct encounter.

Deep Immersion Series, 2023

Eight abstract paintings originating from a single large work. The piece was later separated into individual panels, each retaining traces of the original composition while standing on its own.

Light At The End Of The Tunnel series, 2023

Light at the End of the Tunnel is a series of nine works created individually over a sustained period of focus.

Each piece stands on its own, yet all operate within the same emotional register, marked by tension, restraint, and movement held just short of resolution.

Red Apples series, 2023

This 8 piece series reflects moments of internal conflict, where control meets instinct. Bold black forms create boundaries, while red marks appear abruptly, unapologetic and unresolved.
